The Effect of Listening to Music on Surgical Fear and Anxiety before Cardiac Surgery: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Objective: Listening to music has been used as an intervention during both the treatment and rehabilitation process. Cardiac surgery is stressful generates fear for most patients. This study assessed effect of listening on level surgical state anxiety patients, who were undergoing cardiac surgery. Methods: randomized controlled trial consisted 50 patients in group control group. Two days before surgery, listened about 45 minutes each day. The received no intervention. Patients’ measured using State-Trait Anxiety Inventory Surgical Fear Scale. Results: After intervention, mean was 29.04±10.31, 50.68±13.65. rate 39.56 ± 9.37. found be 56.94±13.90. difference between scores statistically significant Conclusion: A program may aid preoperative period reduce stress well accepted by expecting undergo feasible results suggest a high degree effectiveness.
